A Danish Christmas is not complete without the woven paper hearts; "Julehjerter".
You see them everywhere during the festive season; in shops, in people's windows, and of course on everyone's Christmas treek.
The technique can be traced back to the 19th-century poet and paper artist, H.C.Andersen.
Since then Danish families have been busy cutting and weaving colourful "julehjerter" during the Sundays of Christmas.
The classical "julehjerte" is a red-and-white 3x3 checker-board pattern, but creative soulds have made countless intricate designs.
Take part in the Danish "jule-hygge" with this weave-it-yourself DTU julehjerte.
The DTU Christmas heart was designed by julehjerte enthusiast Johan Rosenkilde, a researcher at DTU.
